Why Everyone Should Have Google Voice

Google Voice is one of the most useful communications tools around. First and foremost, it’s free. But with that $0 pricetag you get a real phone number from almost anywhere in the country that simultaneously rings your other numbers–cell, home, work, etc. So your child’s school could call one number and ring both parents’ cell phones or cell and work phones simultaneously.

A Google Voice number can be programmed to ring on a schedule or not to ring at certain times of the day or night. It even comes with options to label incoming numbers as spam and to block numbers altogether. Even if a user only has a cell phone, giving out the Google Voice number provides an amazing degree of control to prevent businesses from annoying you on your cell.

Google Voice also comes with text messaging and voicemail that can be merged with a cellular device’s native apps or used independently through the Voice app. Another great feature is the ability to eavesdrop as a caller leaves a voicemail and take the call if it’s important.

All in all, it’s hard to believe that all this is F-R-E-E! All you need is a gmail or Google Apps account and your good to go.
